Joanna Pearl Drops Potent New EP I Am Woman (The Remixes)
Singer-songwriter, activist, entrepreneur, yoga teacher, and Grammy member Joanna Pearl releases her new EP, I Am Woman (The Remixes).
Talking about her music, Pearl shares, “I write from the heart and always try to relate to others by writing what I’m feeling. It’s a direct reflection of who I am.”
Joanna Pearl arrived on the music scene with the release of her debut EP, Sensitive Material, which won the Hot AC Album of the Year at the 24th Annual LA Music Awards. She followed with a pair of dazzling singles, “A Little Bit Of Heaven” with Marcus Miles, and her energizing anthem, “I Am Woman.”
In 2022, Pearl was invited to provide vocals on Chicago’s album, Born For This Moment, singing “The Mermaid” Sereia Do Mar. She’s also shared the stage with MC Hammer, Tyrone Wells, and Andy Grammer.
Always giving back and paying her good fortune forward, she performs at local events for Habitat For Humanity Inland Valley and donates gifts to Toys For Tots. For the past two years, she’s partnered with the Ontario Reign hockey club for their annual Teddy Bear Toss, procuring 250 teddy bears for fans and families.
In 2020, she founded Make Music Temecula, a charitable non-profit that provides an equal platform for musicians of all skill levels, interests, and walks of life. Each June 21st, the foundation hosts a Fête De La Musique in Temecula.
Along with her solo career, Pearl fronts SoulCal, a ten-piece soul-funk collective which performs all over Southern California.
Encompassing three remixes of “I Am Woman,” the EP begins with the “Europa XL Remix Full Vocal Mix,” opening on crisp percussion astride a thumping kick-drum. A vibrating topline attends Pearl’s vocals, imbuing the lyrics with dance-pop dynamics and nuanced flavors.
“Europa XL Remix 80’s Revival Dub” features swirling, percolating textures riding a mid-tempo beat topped by Pearl’s soulful vocals, pushing out surging, powerful tones. Echoing with potent resonance, the tune delivers intoxicating oomph.
The final track, “Europa XL Remix Acoustic Chill Mix” rolls out on a sparkling piano as Pearl’s passionate timbres give the lyrics lush, evocative savors, dripping with heartfelt intensity.
